There are different types of digital cameras, the small ones which are easy to bring on a holiday trip. The disadvantage of that type of camera is that the zoom is normally about 3x and you cannot change the lens. The Pentax Optio 330 is an example of such a camera.

Another type of digital camera looks more like an ordinary 35mm SLR camera. They are usually quite heavy to carry, but if you want to take more than ordinary holiday pictures, then this type is better. You can change the lens and you normally get a better zoom range.
